I’ve been researching ways to archive more missing Q related videos, and I’ve come across a way to download Youtube videos that are preserved in snapshots on the Internet Wayback Machine.
First you must find a snapshot where the video is actually working and will play,
then locate the string of characters at the end of the address after the equals sign.
EXAMPLE: https://web.archive.org/web/20180725035000/https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G9GXgcoqJJI
In this case you would want G9GXgcoqJJI
Now copy and paste this sting of characters onto the end of the following url and paste it in the address bar:
https://web.archive.org/web/2oe_/http://wayback-fakeurl.archive.org/yt/
EXAMPLE: https://web.archive.org/web/20130720113437oe_/http://wayback-fakeurl.archive.org/yt/G9GXgcoqJJI
This will take you directly to the video file where you can simply right-click and choose “save as.”
I’m going to be spending my spare time scooping up a lot more missing Q videos this way and I recommend other archivists do the same.
