Why I write poetry

I write poetry because it is an extension of my consciousness, I write poetry not because I’m lazy but because it is the best way to describe the brevity of thoughts that assault my mind. Short, controlled, intricately contrived snippets of thought. That is the best way to describe my thought process. Right now, I am fighting the urge to turn this prose paragraph into poetry. Apart from breaking the third or fourth or whatever wall is being broken, I’m just filling the rest of this with a stream of thought, as fast as I can type with one thumb on my phone. Cheers loves!
